So several things happened today. Namely, I finished my second-to-last exam and Gillian came home.
And, less significantly, I finally got rid of my very embarrassing username on youtube and got the much less self-revealing ufot0fu. Also, because I was mucking around on YouTube, I ended up subscribing to about 20 more users.
It’s quite addictive. [...]

Grilled cheese month
I cannot believe that Xiang Liang is in New York during the National Grilled-Cheese Sandwich Month.
I just sent him a threatening email warning him of the imminent death that awaits him should he not go to at least one of the places listed in this NY magazine article.
In other news, I have decided to stop [...]

If you were planning on buying Freakonomics, STOP!
Buy The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford instead.
To put it simply, the big difference between the 2 books is that while a Freakonomics reader might be able to provide marvelously entertaining stories and facts to tell at a dinner party, he or she will be stumped the moment someone asks, “why?”.
Which is when you, as [...]

Random rattling
I saw this t-shirt at Glebe Markets last week and Gillian very obligingly bought it for me today since she was headed down there anyway with her friend.
So here’s a photo of it, taken as usual with my iSight.
In case you can’t see, it says: there ought to be more dancing
It’s been a really slow [...]

Verbal descriptions…
I’m constantly seeing things around Sydney that I would love to take pictures of. But rarely do I have a camera on me so most of the time I just gaze wistfully.
So I thought instead of showing you pictures, I’d describe them instead.
Today at Campos I saw this hipster Asian mum with her baby. The [...]

Opinionated games
I’ve been having alot of fun reading Michele’s blog recently. Each entry is a mini game or questionnaire that readers participate in through commenting. Sounds fun?
Here’s one of her more recent entries and my accompanying comment:
The Instructions:
Take your time for the test and try to answer as many questions as possible. You are going to [...]

Mushrooms and anagrams!
Today I went to Saint Kilda’s and I bought this:
It’s a kaleidoscopic mushroom!
As seen through the eyes of the kaleidoscopic mushroom:
A few nights after I moved in to the new house, I was having trouble sleeping but couldn’t turn on the lights to read or anything because Gillian hadn’t gotten her bed yet and was [...]

Adicolors, assertiveness (and apparently alliteration!)
Adicolor, designed by Fairground Studio
While I’m not the biggest fan of adidas superstars and adicolors, I can see how these shoes are appealing. I love the fabric pattern though and even if you don’t like the shoes, this place has other stuff that is still worth checking out if you’ve got an [...]

Point. Form. Madness.
Guess what?
I’ve
decided
to start
using
bullet points
instead of the dashes that I’ve been using when I post lists, top 10s and other quantitative stuff.
How professional of me (after all, professionalism is the key to success).
So it looks like everyone seems to have livejournal these days. I know I should jump on the bandwagon if only so that I [...]

in between time and Singapore’s education system
I hate 6:30. It’s the in-between time in tv land. It’s right after Simpsons and before Futurama. And all they show it Neighbours, Today Tonight, A Current Affair and other lousy-ass shizz. I don’t see why they can’t just pack in all the crap together in a row and then all the good stuff together [...]
